The computer world is full of Nerds, Geeks, Good info, Bad Info, Porn and lots of Shit computer Gunk. There are Worms and Viruses, Crooks and Con men and we have Microsoft and Linux as well. This site is intended to contain a mix ranging from light hearted comment and happenings through to some possibly startling facts and controversial opinions. Computers in Modern Warfare and intelligence gathering maybe interesting to some.

Mandrake Linux 10 Bull Shit The following will help you think straight if you find Mandrake Linux nomenclature a bit confusing. Mandrake Linux Version 10 will come in two Versions. For clarity the first version of Mandrake Linux Version 10 is known as the Community Version and the second version of Mandrake Linux Version 10 is to be known as the Official Version. Because the second version of Mandrake Linux Version 10 is the Official Version I guess that makes the first version of Mandrake Linux Version 10 that is known the Community Version an un-official version of Mandrake Linux version 10. Because this version is not an official version there's no point in lodging an Official complaint about this un-official version of Mandrake Linux Version 10 that is also known as the Community version. When the Community version of Mandrake Version 10 is fixed and it becomes the Official Official Version of Mandrake Linux Version 10 then feel free to lodge an Official complaint to Santa Claus if it doesn't work correctly. There's no point in writing to Mandrake Linux Quality Assurance Department because they don't respond to e-mail. If you are not satisfied with Mandrake Linux Version 10 Community or Official Versions then stop complaining as there are another 100 different versions of Linux to help you waste your time. Microsoft is Actually Promoting Linux. What has happened? Well because of recent events Business Week covered Linux. Forbes covered Linux. The New York Times covered it. The Wall Street Journal covered it. Everyone covered it. Not weird fringe outfits, but mainstream financial and news press all covered it. Read all about it Here.

Microsoft Madness. Looks like Microsoft are getting vengeful about having their name Windows put in jeopardy by Lindows - Read about it Here. It now seems Microsoft are suing Lindows again because they have changed their name to Lindash. Read about it Here We would all be far better off if Microsoft devoted their efforts toward fixing their Dud Software instead of picking on poor little Lindash. I guess Microsoft worry because there is a real rhyme between Winsmash and Lindash and undoudtedly many people suffer Winsmash on a regular basis. Microsoft should get over their inferiority complex and just fix their code it instead of trying to take control of the English language.

SCO - This might give SCO the Shits. SCO are taking AutoZone and DaimlerChrysler to Court for using Linux. They are suing AutoZone in the U.S. District Court in Nevada but guess what, that Court itself is using Linux as is the White House, FBI, and Department of Defense. Read about it Here. SCO are making themselves look like the big Daddy of Corporate fools with their ownership claim on Linux. Their Computer business is stuffed because of their antics and they still have some pretty powerful users to contend with including IBM, RED Hat and Novell, they are fighting back so if you own shares in SCO - Perhaps you should sell now while they are still worth something.

Holy Shit - It's happened. Microsoft's Bully boy tactics have back fired big time. The Judge has ruled that Microsoft do not own the word "Windows" so This Decision must be the Mother of all unintended consequences. Looks like their Bully Boy Court action against the tiny little Linux Company Lindows has backfired. Does this mean we may see "Lindows Windows", "Microsoft Windows" and "Apple Windows" or will things remain as is. Perhaps with the new Microsoft Windows Problems who will be game to taint their product with a name like "Windows".

Holy Shit - If you Use Microsoft Products on the Internet then according to Microsoft you should read THIS. If you don't you may very well end up in very deep shit. This is major and Microsoft have concealed it for the last six months. It is the Mother of all Microsoft Exploits so fasten your seat belts and wait for This One.

Holy Shit - It's happened. Mandrake are now taking positive steps toward producing a product that has a good chance of working properly. Mandrake became an absolute pain in the arse as it always seemed able to come up with those unexpected bugs that drove you mad. Worse still was when it managed to do what was thought impossible, it was able to destroy LQ CD-ROM drives. If you are sick and tired of spam a good place to start is to stop using Microsoft products for accessing the Internet. No matter how well you have protected your private e-mail address there's a good chance it will become available to spammers if you have ever used it. Right now there is a Microsoft virus running wild harvesting e-mail addresses for use by spammers. This sort of crap together with password stealing viruses will continue for as long as you continue to use Microsoft products. Their products are not suitable for use so don't say you haven't been warned. You can have the best anti-virus product in the world but it wont save you from This one

Microsoft - The Confused Procrastinating Vacillators. On the 20 Dec I spoke of Microsoft lacking Social Responsibility because with effect the 16 Jan 2004 they were ceasing support for Windows 98. That decision would have left millions of machines unmaintained and available to become potential spam, virus and trojan spreaders. Microsoft by their decision forced Companies to upgrade or take other action. Microsoft procrastinated before they vacillated and changed their mind just days before all support for Windows 98 was to cease. I say to Microsoft this is not a kindergarten you are playing with here. You are impacting on the Corporate planning process in an adverse way. It was a deceitful exercise to announce one thing and then reverse it long after you would have known that responsible Corporate entities would have made plans to cover the demise of your products. In most cases the purchase of hardware and software would have been completed before you announced stiff shit, we have Vacillated and are not doing it anyway. Holy Shit - What sort of Company has Microsoft become when they can do THIS.
